Every crypto user knows the anxiety that comes with signing a transaction: “Can I trust this transaction to perform as expected? Or am I putting myself at risk?” While nothing can prevent 100% of attacks, Pass Protect is a powerful security tool that helps verify transactions with transparent, easy-to-understand language.
Real-time transaction scanning to keep you safe
Navigating the onchain ecosystem can expose you to a variety of risks. Luckily, your Pass App smart crypto wallet uses advanced tools to help keep you safe onchain. Pass Protect is a feature that scans assets, apps, and transactions in real time and warns you of risky actions before you execute them.
💪 Pass Protect is powered by Blockaid, the leading provider of real-time onchain security monitoring. Blockaid currently provides scans for 30 networks, including Base, Optimism, and Ethereum mainnet. Learn more about Blockaid here.
Malicious token and NFT detection
Tokens and NFTs that are identified as risky are sent to the Hidden sections of your wallet, so you won’t see them in your token or collectible tabs.
Malicious, risky, and spam assets are clearly marked, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally interacting with them.
Real-time transaction simulation & verification
Pass Protect simulates transactions and gives you a preview of what would happen if they were executed. Get alerts that protect you from wallet drainers, transfers to unauthorized entities, complex attacks, and more.
⚠️ In rare cases, Blockaid might be unable to scan apps, transactions, and assets and classify them as safe or risky. Always proceed with caution and use your best judgment when dealing with unfamiliar requests and assets.
Understanding different warning labels
There are three different categories of risky assets, each clearly labeled in the app.
⁉️ Spam: These tokens aren’t necessarily harmful, but they don’t offer much value. They may be part of marketing campaigns, like airdrops, to boost their visibility, but they usually don’t provide any real utility. It's best to avoid interacting with them, as they may end up wasting your time and resources.
⚠️ Warning: These tokens may show signs of suspicious behavior or traits often linked to scams, but there isn’t enough evidence to call them malicious for sure. It's a good idea to be cautious when dealing with them.
⛔️ Malicious: This is the most serious category. Tokens marked as malicious put your assets at risk, such as those that send you to phishing sites, have harmful code, or are linked to scams. Interacting with these tokens can lead to significant loss of assets. It's best to stay away from these tokens entirely.
How do I get rid of spam NFTs and tokens?
If you find assets in your wallet that you didn’t intentionally buy or receive, there’s a good chance they’re risky. Even if they aren’t malicious, you’ll probably want to hide spam assets to make it easier to focus on your portfolio.
Read the next section to learn how to hide unwanted assets.
⚠️ While you may be tempted to remove unwanted assets from your wallet, interacting with malicious NFTs and tokens can put you at risk. It’s safer to Hide these assets instead of attempting to sell or burn them.
How do I hide unwanted NFTs and tokens?
Pass App makes it easy to hide spam and malicious assets. When Pass Protect identifies incoming assets as risky, it automatically hides them from view, just like a spam email folder.
You can also manually hide assets you don’t want to see in your wallet. Simply touch and hold on the asset you want to hide.
How do I view my hidden assets?
To view hidden assets, open the Hidden sections on the Token or Collectibles tabs. Hidden assets will have a crossed-out eye icon over them. If you want to unhide an asset, touch and hold on the asset until the icon changes to an open eye 👁️.
How do I unhide an asset?
To unhide an NFT, click on Hidden collectibles from the Collectibles tab.
To unhide a token, click on Hidden tokens from the Tokens tab.
Touch and hold on the asset until the icon changes to an open eye 👁️.
You can now view the NFT on your collectibles screen.
⚠️ If Pass Protect labeled an asset as risky, you’ll be prompted to confirm you want to show it in your wallet. Clicking on “Mark as safe and show” will remove the warning label so it will look like any other asset.
🛡️ The next time you sign a transaction, you can skip the anxiety. Doesn’t it feel good knowing your assets are safe?
