When you create a new account with Pass App, you automatically generate a passkey associated with your Apple ID, Google account, or email address. Because your passkey is stored securely in your deviceās native password manager, it canāt be stolen, intercepted or replicated by attackers. Unlike private keys, passkeys canāt be tricked out of youāthereās nothing to type, copy, or share, which makes phishing attempts ineffective. This ensures that your credentials remain secure, even in the face of phishing attacks.
What happens if I lose my device? Will I lose access to my Pass App account?
Thanks to passkeys, you won't lose access to your account even if you lose your device. Since your passkey is automatically synced to your operating systemās password manager, you can access your Pass App account by signing in to your Apple or Google account on a new device.
What happens if I accidentally delete my passkey or switch operating systems?
If you have Pass Appās Fallback Recovery enabled, you can regain access to your account. This feature allows you to regain access to your wallet when your original passkey is not available because you deleted it or switched operating systems.
How do I enable Fallback Recovery?
You can enable Fallback Recovery by verifying up to five phone numbers as secure backups. If needed, a recovery code will be sent to one of your verified numbers, allowing you to quickly regain access to your wallet.
