How to recover your Pass App account

Lost access to your wallet? Here's how to get back in quickly and securely.

Updated over a week ago

If you've lost access to your device or switched operating systems, don’t worry! Pass App makes account recovery simple with built-in passkey and email recovery options designed to get you back in fast.

Depending on your situation, you can use one of the following methods to restore access without the stress.

1. Passkey recovery for lost devices

Thanks to passkeys, every account has basic recovery enabled. Passkeys are securely saved to your operating system. If you’re using the same email and same OS (Google or Apple) as before, your account will sync automatically, no extra steps needed.

Here’s how to recover using your passkey:

  • Download Pass App on your new device.

  • Log in using the same email and same operating system as before.

✅ That’s it! Your passkey syncs automatically, and you’re back in your account.

⚠️ Android users — check your settings:

Android users should double-check that their password manager is set to automatically save passwords to ensure their passkeys are synced across their operating system.

2. Email recovery for deleted passkeys

Email recovery lets you recover your account even if you accidentally deleted your passkey or change operating systems.

To recover using email recovery:

  1. Download Pass App on your new device and log in using the same email address.

  2. From the Home screen, go to your Profile, then tap Security.

  3. Tap Initiate recovery.

  4. We’ll send a recovery code to your email (check your spam folder just in case).

  5. Paste the code into the app and tap Verify.

  6. A new passkey will be created, and just like that, you’re back in ✅

3. Email recovery with 2FA enabled

If you’ve enabled 2-factor authentication (2FA), you’ll need to verify your phone number before getting your email recovery code.

To recover with 2FA:

  1. Download Pass App and log in with the same email address.

  2. From the Home screen, tap Profile, then open Security.

  3. Tap Initiate recovery.

  4. Enter the phone number you used for 2FA.

  5. Enter the 6-digit code sent via SMS and tap Verify.

  6. Check your email for a recovery code and enter it in the app.

  7. Tap Verify, and your account will be restored.

  8. A new passkey will be generated automatically and you’ll be ready to get back onchain ✅
